We can organise lots of things BUT the weather has a mind of its own.
Lets hope its similar to last Years Easter weekend :)
Whatever it does I'm sure we'll have an enjoyable trip.
Looking forward to it.
Best wishes,
Ian.

Hi Ian

the routes look good, all we now need is the weather, but hey ho, we are used to wind and rain on Elite Wing event :-)

today I received my recall document for my rear brake check from mother Honda .

The worrying bit is that I had it done some weeks ago.

Drinking session, breweries, and organisational skills spring to mind :-)

I suppose it better to contact me twice rather than not contacting me at all.

Just received my recall notice today. Interestingly I had looked at the VOSA recall website yesterday and there was no mention of this - would have thought it would have appeared by now. Still nothing there this morning!

Like Ian, I am with Aire Valley/Chaucer (see Ian's very eloquent post above). I would add that my daughter, Jacqueline, insured her car with them, including European Breakdown cover, after I gave her their number. Late on Christmas Eve while driving through Holland, Jacqueline had an accident (husband and 2 kids on board) that meant the car was going no further. Aire Valley were superb. They told her not to worry about anything and that they would sort it all out. Jacqueline's mother-in-law drove the hour and a half from Germany to collect the family and, on 27 December, a Ford Mondeo was delivered to the German address as a replacement car. They continued with their holiday and later drove the Mondeo back to their home in London. About 4 weeks after the accident their own car was delivered, like new, to their home address and the Mondeo was driven away. Aire Valley handled everything very efficiently without any fuss. That sort of service can be priceless in times of stress.

I contacted my broker The Policy Shop on the pretence of buying a new Wing at £24,000 and they have no companies that can insure it. I told them there are many bikes at that price and more such as Ducati,Harley etc and they promised to contact as many of their underwriters as possible to review the situation. I will keep you posted. cheers Richard

Hi,
I made contact with Honda Happiness yesterday and they have quoted me.
The guy said he would have to refer it to their underwriters and would get back to me later the same day.
He did, and they will cover me/it BUT they want a £750 excess and their premium is £931pa.

This is the first UK spec bike I’ve owned and whilst the bike is great and no problems, my experience with Honda UK has been less than good. Their insurance scheme is almost worthless to me, their ‘customer Care’ people are very poorly trained with very little knowledge of Goldwings and they arent up to date with the new model. Their ‘service’ is grim !!
I’ve always imported my previouse bikes from the US and therefore have never had any dealings with Honda UK and now I’m beginning to think they are more of a hinderance than a help !

I’ve had several quotes from other companies/brokers and the best price is from Adrian Flux (Bikesure. They quoted me £610 with a £600 excess.

I’ve got a few weeks yet before I need to activate a policy so I’ll keep searching and will keep you informed.
Cheers,
Ian C.
